Emerging Men’s Style Trends from Pitti Uomo This Summer

6th July 2026

Every June, Florence becomes the global testing ground for menswear. While runway collections point to where designers want fashion to go, the streets of Pitti Uomo reveal what stylish men are actually willing to wear. This summer’s edition (Pitti Uomo 110) suggested that menswear is entering a more relaxed, expressive and climate-conscious era—without abandoning tailoring.

Relaxed Tailoring Replaces Rigid Suits

The strongest message was unmistakable: structure has softened. Jackets featured natural shoulders, fuller cuts and lighter construction, while trousers widened with elegant drape rather than oversized volume. The objective is movement and comfort without sacrificing sophistication.

Linen, tropical wool and lightweight cotton dominated, creating tailoring designed for increasingly warm summers rather than air-conditioned boardrooms.

Texture Takes Centre Stage

Instead of relying on bold patterns, many attendees embraced tactile fabrics. Open-weave linens, slub cottons, washed silk, seersucker and softly brushed suedes added visual depth while remaining understated.

The effect was a wardrobe that feels luxurious through craftsmanship rather than conspicuous branding.

Earth Tones with Carefully Chosen Colour

Classic neutrals remain foundational, but this season they were punctuated by muted colour. Sage green, dusty pink, butter yellow, terracotta, tobacco and pale blue appeared repeatedly.

Rather than dressing head-to-toe in colour, many combined one statement piece—a jacket, knit or trouser—with otherwise neutral styling.

The Return of Refined Accessories

Accessories were no longer afterthoughts. Silk scarves, woven hats, statement sunglasses, brooches and generous leather totes elevated otherwise simple outfits.

Footwear also reflected a shift toward versatility. Penny loafers remained dominant, but suede driving shoes, elegant sandals and minimalist sneakers offered alternatives that worked equally well with tailoring and casual separates.

What It Means for Men’s Style

Pitti Uomo suggests that modern menswear is becoming less prescriptive and more adaptable. Traditional tailoring remains relevant, but it has become softer, lighter and easier to wear. Technical fabrics coexist with artisanal craftsmanship, while accessories provide opportunities for personal expression.

The biggest takeaway is that elegance no longer depends on formality. Today’s well-dressed man is just as likely to pair an unstructured linen jacket with relaxed trousers and leather sandals as he is to wear a traditional suit. Comfort, versatility and understated confidence are shaping the next chapter of menswear—qualities that feel particularly suited to contemporary lifestyles and increasingly warmer climates.
